Sandy Gibson

Sandy, a telecom entrepreneur from Victoria, BC, started his TRAK journey at the 2020 Pacific Rim Surf Camp, and has kept paying it forward in the community ever since. Sandy loves sharing his passions with others, and has a knack for getting his friends involved in his outdoor pursuits on and off the water. A self-described "gear nut", Sandy was first attracted to the 2.0 for it's unique marriage of performance and portability, and, as an avid crowdfunding backer, the TRAK isn't the first innovative piece of tech he has gotten behind, as he has proudly been an early adopter of many other breakthrough designs over the years.
In his words;
I originally joined the Pilot program because the TRAK 2.0 offers that magical balance between an amazing technical achievement and a uniquely organic and tactile paddling experience. The feel of the living water through the skin of the kayak is impossible to forget once you’ve experienced it.
Every time I’m setting up my TRAK, a stranger comes up and is instantly fascinated and excited. Some people just NEED this craft, and I’m delighted to find them, to share experiences and to help them to get out there. The more people truly understand how beautiful and vulnerable our waters are, the better decisions we’ll make in protecting them.
Just as important as this awesome kayak, it’s the people in the TRAK community that really keep me stoked for more adventures. The average TRAK paddler is, in my experience, not average at all. We share an openhearted appreciation of wild places, an understanding of the vast power and fragility of the earth’s waters, and a pure love for getting out there and dancing to the ocean’s music.
I can keep my TRAK in the back of my car, ready for those paddling opportunities to strike, and It's amazing how much better the world looks and feels after a quick setup and launch, and taking those first strokes from shore.
