When pondering what would be my new direction after a career in software development and having only dabbled in many outdoor activities for much of my life I decided to take the plunge into a new career in outdoor adventures. After some intensive outdoor leadership training (the 3-month COLT program) on Vancouver Island in 2017, I began sea kayak guiding and instructing -- and then also canoe and SUP instructing -- in and around Vancouver, BC. As a TRAK Pilot, I help out with test paddles, skills instruction, and trip guiding.
