I had heard about TRAK for years, but never managed to create the opportunity to paddle one before the 2017 TRAK Tofino surf camp. What a fantastic trip! Not only did I get some great paddle time in the TRAK, I also got to meet many of the great folks that are behind making TRAK the kayak and the company. While I can’t say enough good things about the TRAK team, the reason I find myself spending so much time paddling the TRAK now is because it is such a fun boat to paddle. I’m the guy that likes to slide his boat into the water just as the sun is rising and slide out of the water and into camp at the end of the day as the sun is going down. I paddled the Race to Alaska last year (750 mile race from Port Townsend, WA, to Ketchikan, AK) and currently have the fastest time to complete the race by a kayak. I’ll be doing the Race again this year. This time I’ll be paddling a TRAK 2.0. Follow the adventure on Facebook and Instagram #teamtrakkayaks.
