I found out about TRAK through the Expeditionary Studies Program at SUNY Plattsburgh in New York, which is where I went to school. One part obtaining your degree through this program is to successfully complete an unsupported, student-led expedition. After deciding to do a sea kayak/surf trip down the west coast of Baja Mexico, myself and fellow pilot Ted Tetrault reached out to TRAK; they were happy to hop on board with the expedition and we wound up falling in love with the boats while in Baja. Coming from a surfing background, I am attracted to big waves and I am always amazed at how well the TRAK handles in large surf. Baja really inspired me to keep exploring wild coastlines throughout the world in pursuit of waves; there is now that potential for me to get to places and waves that not many paddlers/surfers would be able to access, and this excites me.
