TRAK Pilot Ambassadors
After 12 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, Cornel made a career switch into the outdoors and found himself in the Canadian Outdoor Leadership Training Program (COLT) at Strathcona Park Lodge on Vancouver Island. It was here where he discovered his passion for everything paddling...
If you'd asked me five years ago where I'd be today, I honestly wouldn't have expected to be here, paddling along some of the most beautiful coastlines, becoming an instructor and guide, actually managing to roll a kayak.
And yet, here I am...
My introduction to paddling started at the age of 7 when my parents dropped me off at Camp Hurontario in Georgian Bay. This was several days before the other campers arrived. The councillors needed to find ways to keep me busy so they taught me how to paddle and stern a canoe.
Jake is an adventure sports coach, outdoor educator, and all-round outdoor enthusiast. He is a multi-disciplinary paddlesport instructor along with climbing, sailing, wilderness medicine, LNT, and expeditioning.
vehicle in 2018, we were looking for a way to combine our passion for kayaking
and RV travel without compromising the pleasure of paddling a high-performance
sea kayak, of excellent quality and navigable on various bodies of water.
I am an avid paddler from Victoria, BC and try to get out on the water as often as possible. I am a SKGABC level 2 sea kayak guide and a founding director and current president of SISKA, Victoria’s sea kayaking club. I like to paddle everything from flatwater to tideraces, surf and rock gardens, and the TRAK does all of these! When I travel, my TRAK allows me to paddle in places that would otherwise be off limits, and to paddle a kayak that performs!
