I’ve been paddling and living on the North Devon coast actively for the last 15 years and recreationally for 5 years prior to that. We have some of the biggest tides in the world in the Bristol Channel and substantial swells and surf which at the very worst helps instill a confidence in your ability to review, react and cope with most sea paddling situations. On a calm day there is nowhere better to meander and explore. When the conditions pick up (as we also get a bit of wind and rain in the UK, believe it or not!) this is when it is imperative that both you and your equipment are fit to cope with the increased forces. TRAK kayaks cope with these conditions. I surf 5 foot breaking surf, punch out through heavy dumping waves and tackle volatile tide races all in the name of fun! With the thigh braces set properly the TRAK rolls with relative ease too. I feel it performs and looks much more like a high-end hard shell sea kayak than most people would imagine.
