More than 15 years of unbridled commitment grows with support for its premier portable touring kayaks and its global community of adventurers
Nanaimo, BC, Canada (April 18, 2023)
TRAK Outdoors Ltd. (“TRAK”), renowned makers of the TRAK 2.0 ultimate touring kayaks, has completed a significant private funding round through its shareholders, product ambassador partners, and angel investors. This major funding has enabled the company to address supply chain challenges, and shore up its team to focus on accelerating production, deliveries and growth.
“The ripple effects of the pandemic response had a big impact on our ability to deliver on the increasing demand for our kayaks” said TRAK founder Nolin Veillard. “Our partners have responded, so now we can drastically reduce the customer lead time over the next nine to twelve months.”
The company is also pleased to announce the addition of Simon Naylor, in the role of Director of Operations and Sales. He will lead a concerted fulfillment effort in support of worldwide deliveries. Simon brings over two decades of leadership and management experience to TRAK, and is also an avid sea kayaker and has extensive expedition leadership experience.
Following the introduction of their most recent portable kayak in 2017, the TRAK 2.0 ultimate touring kayak, TRAK has focused on practical improvements and complementary accessories to unleash the paddler’s experiences on and off the water. In addition to building premium equipment, TRAK has also focused on camps, tours and training programs delivered through partners and its unique product ambassador group, called TRAK Pilots. These TRAK-experienced paddlers assist and run programs on the water to bring TRAK customers the value of their passion, experience and coaching.
The TRAK team is relieved and excited to unleash more paddlers on the water with its unique kayak and programs to support paddler confidence, skills and experiences in the coming decades.
TRAK Kayaks has been making revolutionary portable touring kayaks since 2006. These skin-on-frame, folding kayaks have gained a reputation as the kayaker’s portable kayak. Created and designed at its head office on Vancouver Island BC Canada and manufactured at a world renowned outdoor gear facility in the Philippines, TRAK kayaks are sold in more than 40 countries and paddled on oceans, lakes and rivers the world over.
