Meet Your Guide

Eliet Aguilar Valderrama

Eliet hails from the edge of the Atacama, but now calls Patagonia her home. Based out of Puerto Natales, Eliet spends half of her year guiding clients from all over the world in Chile before spending the (Northern!) summer on Vancouver Island. Eliet was the TRAK "Pilot in Residence" for the summer season of 2024 at TRAK headquarters, and has made excellent contributions to the TRAK community along the way.

On the water, Eliet maintains a calm demeanor that is contagious and reassuring. A fan of big water and large swells, she likes that her TRAK 2.0 can take her into and out of whatever conditions she wants! Traveling between hemispheres is no joke, either, and so the portability of the TRAK enables her to live her lifestyle.

If you're traveling to Patagonia and are curious about the TRAK 2.0, please reach out to set up a potential meet up and test paddle!

What you'll learn:

- Boat control skills
- Paddling Strokes
- Self & Assisted Rescues
- Expedition packing & planning
- Various aspects of Seamanship. i.e weather, navigation, tides, and chart reading, etc.

What we're going to do:

The route possibilities for this expedition range from short to moderate across 3 days, while seeking opportunities to explore moving waters and island hopping, while navigating intertidal passages.

Your TRAK Pilot will determine the best route based on their assessment of the weather forecast and everyone’s experience level and goals. The following islands are likely to be visited on this trip: De Courcy Island, Ruxton Island, Valdes Island, and Reid Island.

The sea kayaking skills that we focus on during this trip are dependent on the previous experience that participants possess, while clarifying and delivering a program to help paddlers realize their future aspirations.
