Location: AYR, Scotland 

I have been sea kayaking for nearly 30 years now, with national qualifications to reflect my strong reputation as guide and coach. I use my TRAK for travel paddling, including an extensive tour in Croatia where the where the variable rocker proved excellent for the varied paddling scenarios!

I’ve worked on a voluntary basis in my coaching and guiding, leading in East Greenland a few times as well as Lofoten (Norway), Sardinia, Denmark, Sweden and of course locally all across the Scottish Western Isles and mainland both East and West coasts. My record non-stop circumnavigation of Islay stands unchallenged at 147km in 27hrs, raising money for defibrillators on the island. 

I’m a member of 3 clubs and very active member of the main FB pages for the sport in Scotland and in Ireland as well. I run a Xmas Charity night paddle each year for the RNLI/Coastguard and typically have 30 – 50 participants from all across the country. My event has run for more than 10 years and has raised 6 figures for the target charity as well as having spawned several further afield similar events in the east coast as well as Northern and Western Isles.
