Our love for paddling started in 2020 during the pandemic when we turned to kayaking as a way to get outside, stay active, and connect with nature. What began as simple exercise quickly became a passion, as we discovered the freedom and adventure that being on the water provides.
In 2023, we took a leap and moved from apartment life in Vancouver to a home on the wild west coast of Vancouver Island. It was a big change, but one we haven’t regretted for a second. Now, we have nature’s playground just minutes from our doorstep, with endless opportunities to paddle and explore.
Though we share a love for kayaking, our paddling styles are a bit different. Jenni is drawn to multi-day expeditions, finding joy in the rhythm of long crossings, remote campsites, and the deeper connection that comes with extended time on the water. Ben, on the other hand, thrives in dynamic conditions, seeking out surf waves, tidal currents, and technical paddling challenges that keep him engaged and pushing his skills.
We are both Paddle Canada Level 2 paddlers, Level 1 and AOG guides, and Ben is also a Level 1 instructor. With our TRAK kayaks, we can now reach incredible paddling destinations with ease—whether it’s launching from our backyard or traveling in our camper to explore new coastlines and waterways.
As TRAK Pilots, we’re excited to share our love for kayaking and help others experience the versatility and performance of these boats. If you’re curious about the TRAK 2.0 or want to test paddle one, we’d love to connect and get you on the water!
