Alberta is a long way from the sea, so it might raise an eyebrow to learn the head office and design operations for a company that produces portable ocean kayaks sold in 40 countries is based in Airdrie.
TRAK Kayaks’ founder and managing director, Nolin Veillard, grew up near Saskatoon. Following university he moved to Calgary to article as a chartered accountant with Deloitte.
But after five years at the firm, Veillard followed his explorer instincts and moved to San Francisco to work with startup technology companies.
