TRAK Couple: Kim & Jamie Dawson

Working together with our partners to live a life unleashed can have its ups and downs, and not every couple is going to have the same vision for how to get there together. It takes work, patience, motivation, and trust to commit to a lifestyle that takes you out of the box and onto the ocean.

New to the world of TRAK, Jamie and Kim Dawson are water loving Canadians located on Vancouver Island. Water plays a big role in their daily routines, with  the Pacific ocean and the Strait of Juan de Fuca being a prominent part of life on the island.

Jamie and Kim’s love for the great outdoors has turned into a lifestyle and career choice. After 20 years in the sporting goods industry, Jamie has taken on the role of managing partner at the reputable Ocean River Sports, located in Victoria, BC.

A shared passion for adventure has led them to clock over 50,000 km in their adventure van since 2021. Including, A year exploring the stunning Haida Gwaii islands of the PNW. Followed by hiking, paddling, and surfing their way through the Olympic National Park, Big Sur, Joshua Tree, The Sierras, Yosemite, Mt. Shasta, and everything in between.

Their love for paddle sports has led them to set their sights on obtaining their Paddle Canada instructors and guiding certifications. With hopes to share their enthusiasm for paddle sports with others.

In 2024, they plan to combine business with pleasure by taking their TRAK kayaks to the Paddle Sports Show in Lyon, France, and then continuing on to paddle along the white sand beaches of Corsica. Followed by surfing the infamous sets of Nazare’ in Portugal.

If you're in Victoria, BC and looking to test a TRAK 2.0, then head down to Ocean River Sports in Oak Bay, or at the new Vic Harbour Paddle Shack opening on March 1st.
