Embark on an unforgettable and empowering expedition with expert guide and Trak Pilot Alex LaLonde of Body Boat Blade. Over seven days, you will find yourself immersed in the beautiful San Juan Islands, following the pull of the moon as we travel from island to island with help of ocean currents.
We’ll take advantage of the TRAK 2.0’s unmatched portability and eliminate the need for any personal vehicles or kayak trailers on this expedition, allowing us to travel with a much lower carbon footprint - and more time on the water!
Meet Your Guides
Alex is happiest in the seat of a kayak, driven by a deep passion for paddling and adventure sports. Whether navigating local rivers and coastlines or exploring waterways around the world, he’s always seeking new paddling experiences.
As the owner of Body Boat Blade, Alex has built his life around paddling and coaching. While he spends most of his time on the sea, he’s also a skilled whitewater kayaker and open canoeist, having completed extensive training through British Canoeing. His love for the outdoors began in Ithaca, NY, where he grew up surrounded by gorges, lakes, and rolling hills.
His paddling journey started as a raft guide on New York’s Black River before diving deeper into the sport at SUNY Plattsburgh. There, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Expeditionary Studies with a focus on paddlesports and climbing. After graduating, he pursued further training through British Canoeing while building an impressive paddling resume across the U.S. and the U.K.
Alex is dedicated to learner-focused coaching, helping paddlers progress through personalized, engaging, and methodical instruction.
